Kozlov To Detroit?

We had heard some rumors that Holland was making a deal for Kozlov now it might actually be a possibility, waiting for more infomation tho most likely will wait after Olympic breaks.

	Quote::

According to a blog report on the Atlanta Journal-Constitution website, Atlanta Thrashers forward Vyacheslav Kozlov has requested a trade.

The 37-year-old winger has a no-trade clause, but said he would be willing to waive it in order to join a contender.

Having played only twice in Atlanta's last ten games, Kozlov has fallen out of favour with Thrashers head coach John Anderson.

"I don't know if I'm going to be on this team or another team," Kozlov told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "If we can find a team which I like and which is good for me and my family I will go. If not, I'm going to be here.

With coach not playing me, what can you do? That's why I feel I could go play for somebody that needs my help. If so, I'll waive my no trade clause."

A talented yet inconsistent performer, Kozlov only has 24 points with a career-worst minus-16 rating in 52 games this season, a year after tallying 76 points, including 43 on the power play. Kozlov has accumulated 851 points in 1,179 career games.

Last Game Before The Olympic Break

Detoirt Red Wings have put forward Brad May on waivers, step one in getting Lilja back in the lineup.

Maltby might need surgery on his shoulder putting him on injury reserved list clearing about 700,000$ in cap space needed to bring up Lilja.

Lilja, 6-feet-3 and 220 pounds, would add some size.

“He’s a big body on the back end, he’s a great penalty killer, good shot blocker," coach Mike Babcock said. "Because of his size, he’ll make a huge difference to our team. He’s a real positive guy, a real good teammate, good energy guy.”

Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said forwards Pavel Datsyuk and Valtteri Filppula didn't practice. He expects both to play Saturday.

Defenseman Niklas Kronwall (knee) said he feels much better and expects to play Saturday.

Franzen Makes Return On Tuesday

Mlive:

The Wings said Wednesday that Franzen's target date to return is next Tuesday against the St. Louis Blues, putting his rehab time at the minimum of four months and potentially giving him three games before the Olympic break. Then he can put his feet up on the coffee table and do whatever it is a guy nicknamed the Mule does to relax for a few weeks, having been left off the Team Sweden Olympic roster.

Other Wings News:

Holland said defenseman Niklas Kronwall (knee) experienced some pain Thursday. He will try to practice Friday before a decision is made on his availability for Saturday. The club will be particularly cautious with Kronwall, who has had two close calls since returning from a sprained knee.

“We talked about doing some tests as a precaution,’’ Holland said. “We don’t think it’s anything significant.’’

Holland will watch defenseman Andreas Lilja play two games for Grand Rapids (AHL) Friday and Saturday. The Red Wings likely will petition the NHL to extend Lilja’s conditioning stint by two games after the weekend. Lilja did mention after his first game that he had no issues.

Kronwal Doubtful

Defenseman Niklas Kronwall's right skate blade broke off its runner during Tuesday against the San Jose Sharks.

As Kronwall continued to skate and tweaked his ankle, and probably won't play during the Red Wings' Wednesday night game in Anaheim.
